Are you looking for a side hustle this year? Maybe you want to make more money on the side. Or maybe you’re looking to use skills that you’re not using in your 9-5 job. Or maybe you’re even looking for your purpose here on earth? I can relate to that. It wasn’t long ago that I was looking for a side hustle, and now I create and sell printables. And while creating a side hustle might not seem like the way to finding your true purpose on earth, I want to go deep. Let’s talk about how to Find Your Purpose in a Side Hustle.

Do you ever ask yourself why you’re here?
There are a lot of people out there asking the same questions. For example, “Why am I here?” or “What am I supposed to be doing with my life?” If you’re one of those people, you’re not alone. I think most of us are asking ourselves these same questions. And if I’m honest, I think that the true reason why so many people have a mid life crisis is that they’re NOT asking themselves these types of questions early enough.
Sadly, we’ve been trained that there are only a few paths to go down in life. So we do what we’re told. We went to college and get a degree in something we’re not remotely interested in. Then we work our 9-5s and we climb the corporate ladder.
How A Side Hustle is Often Born: Find Your Purpose in a Side Hustle
It’s not usually until something terrible happens that we question any of these things. A health scare. The death of a loved one. A layoff or a firing. That’s when we start asking these kinds of questions. It forces us to look at things that maybe we’ve been avoiding for years.
We start to go inward – where we should be spending more of our time on anyway, right? We’re often guided to think of our skills and talents and ask ourselves what we like doing already?
That’s often when a side hustle is born.
Why I Started My Side Hustle
For me, finding my side hustle was exactly like this. Some of you already know my story about how I struggled with postpartum depression. I was searching for something outside the life of being a mom and outside my typical 9-5 job. That’s when I decided to start my business.
And what I have uncovered throughout the process couldn’t be more magical. For example, after I started to create handmade party decorations in my Etsy shop, I then started a blog. I’d always loved to write, so it seemed like the most logical and exciting next step. Later on, I switched my decorations to printables because I was getting burnt out. And then, I started coaching other people on how to do what I’ve done.
All the while on my journey, I have learned so much about myself. I have discovered strengths of mine that I never knew were there. I’ve learned about things I need to work on, and things I hate doing that I never would have known about pre-side hustle.
Find Your Purpose in a Side Hustle
If you decide to start a side hustle, you might not follow the exact journey that I have. But what I love about entrepreneurship is that it will help you to see yourself in a way you’ve never seen before. It will help you come to know yourself better as you navigate where to go next and how best to get there.
You will see your strengths and weaknesses in a whole new light. You will feel more lit up and more on-purpose than you’ve ever felt before.
So I guess the message and takeaway behind this blog today is to take the leap on your side hustle now. Don’t wait until something catastrophic happens in your life that has you questioning everything in your life. Start your business idea right now so that you can learn who you really are. You’ll find that as you move forward in your business, you are going to learn SO much about yourself. More than you could EVER discover in corporate America. And once you know more about yourself, you can then take more actions in your life that lead you to more fulfillment and happiness then you ever thought possible.
Thank you!
In summary, I think you can Find Your Purpose in a Side Hustle, and that’s why I encourage so many people to take the leap. I hope this gives you some ideas about creating a side hustle in your own life. I love to help you celebrate life through printables and personal development!
