When you plan a party for your little one, it has to be something that they are obsessed with in that very moment! Why? Because it’s the perfect way to capture a specific phase in your child’s life, and something you’ll want to remember! My daughter has been obsessed with Ballerina’s since she was introduced to the nutcracker during the holidays. So I thought it would be TUTU cute to have an adorable birthday party with all the ballerina party decorations!

And you know me. I went all out. So without further ado…
We’re TuTu Excited To Invite You to the Party!
I absolutely had to design the invitation in the shape of a ballerina tutu, because #itstutucute! It turned out to be the most adorable thing ever. The only thing that wasn’t awesome, was that it didn’t hold a lot of information, so I had to include a separate information card, like it was some kind of wedding or something LOL.
While I think it turned out great, there’s one thing I would change. I don’t recommend the “regrets only” tactic for a children’s birthday where you have to give the venue a head count. It just doesn’t quite work. Lesson learned.
The Perfect Venue For A Ballerina Party
I found The Ballet School of Walnut Creek and loved that the party venue was the perfect place to host a large party, where both the children and parents could stay and enjoy themselves. This can sometimes be overlooked. And a three year old’s birthday party certainly isn’t the age where you can just drop off your kid! Plus a lot of our friends don’t have kids who are old enough to participate in the class, and so I wanted to be able to invite them as well.
The Ballet School not only had a huge room to be able to do this, but most importantly, their staff are so loving and sweet to the children. They teach a fun 45 minute class and are super flexible and helpful. They even helped me set up some of my decorations! (Thank you Ms. Haley and Amanda!)
Welcome TuTu the Party
You know I love to start the party with a bang, and why not with this gorgeous “Welcome TuTu the Party” sign?
Happy Birthday TuTu our Little Ballethreena
As guests arrived, I was frantically still putting up party decorations because when you are on a venue’s schedule, that’s just how the cookie crumbles.
However, for the most part, I think it ended up looking great!
The ballet party decorations – the most important part!
This backdrop and table skirt gives me ALL THE FEELS!!! Is it not everything!? And, it actually wasn’t all that expensive, believe it or not. Originally, I wanted a tulle backdrop to match the table skirt. but I ordered like THREE on Amazon, and they all arrived in the color of salmon! I was not impressed. Luckily, since I planned ahead, I could go a different route.
I decided to design my own backdrop and order it from Bing Banners. I found them online at an awesome price! The secret? These banners are typically for a step and repeat banner that is a bit longer. If you keep it short, but wide, you can lower the price dramatically. I highly recommend ordering your banners through them. It shipped in only a few days.
Below I’ve included the exact items I purchased on Amazon, that you might think about getting for your ballerina party decorations.
More Ballerina Party Decorations
Designing the decorations for this party was SO fun.
I created some inexpensive centerpieces by filling vases with tulle, tying balloons to the vases, and putting some very cute centerpiece sticks in them. It was the perfect easy and cheap ballerina birthday party decorations! I also had a few vases filled with the most beautiful pink roses that matched the theme perfectly!
This birthday banner turned out so cute. You know my style, less is more 😉
Below, I’ve included more great ideas on how to really rock this ballerina theme. You can also see all my ideas on my Ballerina Party Pinterest board.
Just Dance
Once most of the children had arrived, it was time to start the dance segment! The kids lined up and tiptoed (hands on hips!) to the dance studio to start the class. It was so sweet to watch their excitement!
The kids had a blast being led through the dance instruction. And I say “dance” loosely, as it was mostly just movement, singing, and fun. 😉
We got the cutest ballerina outfit essentials on Amazon – linked below. She’s not wearing the ballet shoe in this photo, but they are so adorable. HUGE tip if you buy these ones… SIZE WAY UP!
Will Plié For Pizza and Ballerina Booze
Some of the parents watched…
While others enjoyed some food…
…and a drink or TuTu
Who says kids parties are boring? Bota Box really took this party up a notch!
Even the glassware (or should I say, plasticware?) got in on the ballerina party decorations….!
All of the parents were raving about how this was the perfect party idea! The parents drank and mingled, while their kids had a blast in class. Does it get any better?!
Chassé Over For Cupcakes
This may have been my favorite part. This shows that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to make your dessert bar look spectacular! Guess where these cupcakes were from? Safeway! They cost me a total of $18.00! That’s right! You can still make an adorable party setup on a budget!
After class, we served the cake and cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to our little balle-THREE-na. It was so sweet.
You are Tutu Sweet!
As always, I love to send people away with a favor that isn’t just a bunch of junk. So we did a candy bar!
You can get this “TuTu Sweet” Thank You sign or the printable thank you stickers for your candy bags right here.
The candy bar was a sweet treat for guests as they left and a total hit and I got all of it on Amazon, which I have included links for below!
After dessert, the kids were content to get a little crazy running around the large room, which was just fine with all of the parents.
All that said, it was such a great time. I know she had fun and I am pretty sure all of the other kids enjoyed themselves as well! It was a ballerina party for the books! I literally cannot believe I have a three year old. I guess I better get started planning a four year old’s birthday 😉
