About two months before giving birth, a man at my husband’s company Christmas party told me that the pregnancy and labor were the easy part of having a baby and the first year is actually the hard part. I won’t lie. I was annoyed. But what’s more annoying? He was right.

After getting through a year of parenting, your marriage still in tact, your body “pretty much” back to normal, and getting some decent nights of sleep…you deserve a donut…and an easy first birthday to plan.
Not only do you deserve one donut. You deserve a party FULL of donuts and mimosas. You can roll out of bed wearing your party outfit, cleanup is a breeze, and you can invite all your friends and family and call it your kid’s first birthday! Trust me, I did it. And you can too.

This donut-themed guest book is a great way to capture who attends your party!
We asked everyone to wear their pajamas, and I was surprised to see so many people actually do it! My husband, daughter, and I had fun with the theme by wearing donut-related tops and pjs on the bottom!

Donut 1st Birthday Party Essentials
One of the fun things that I love to do for clients for first birthday parties is a favorites poster. A “favorites poster” has all of their favorite things and stats for the year prior. So of course I had to do one for my daughter’s donut party!
Donut Party Setup
We clearly got WAY too many donuts. However, it was totally worth it, given how the setup turned out.
We served donuts (obviously!), a dry cereal bar, and fruit cups! I put a custom label on each of the fruit cups, which turned out so cute. It was a great way to personalize the party.
Donut Party Activities
I got the idea for a fruit loop necklace station from Pinterest! It was a great idea for an activity for the older children that came! We also had a coloring station with donut-themed coloring pages. The kids really enjoyed it!
We also had people vote who she looked most like. I think Mommy was the winner lol.

Did I mention my daughter and my husband share the same birthday? This adorable cake topper was the perfect way to top the donut cakes.
After that, we set up a coffee and mimosa bar! Because, they are essentials with donuts, right?
Donuts and Pajamas Party Favors
Lastly, when the fun is all over, I love to send guests home with the perfect favor to match the party theme! Therefore, these favor tags are perfect for the occasion.
These were such a big hit for her party, that I went ahead and created some similar ones for a boy’s donut and pajamas party!
Below are some great ideas, for example, to tie your favor tag to! We did a little bit of all of these favors! Fo instance, the Donut Pull Truck, The Plush Donuts, and the Donut suckers. With these three different favors, there was something for everyone at any age to enjoy!
