Gratitude and Law of Attraction

As you may have learned from my podcast, The Celebration Effect Podcast, or from some of my previous blogs like, How The Law of Attraction applies to positive thinking, gratitude is such an important part of manifesting. Why? Because gratitude is a frequency. And like frequencies attract. We know this from the law of attraction. Therefore, when you are in a state of gratitude, you are pulling everything you want toward you.

The act of writing in my gratitude journal, as you may know, has helped pull me out of postpartum depression, and helped me manifest things I could have never imagined, both personally and professionally.

How to Start a Daily Gratitude Practice

So, you’re probably wondering HOW to start a daily gratitude practice. Let’s get started on a few tips to get you started and KEEP you going in order to manifest miracles.

First things first people. In order to create gratitude miracles, you HAVE to set aside time in your day to be grateful. And I don’t just mean on your way to start the coffee machine. You’ve got to write it down. When you write it down and get it onto paper, it gets OUT of your subconscious mind, and into reality.

Gratitude is the law of increase, and complaint is the law of decrease.

When you write in your daily gratitude journal, here’s your goal:

  1. Write down a few unique things you can be grateful for today! (What’s different about today that you can be grateful for?)
  2. Give thanks for things that you are working toward AS IF you have already achieved them.
  3. Write down how it makes you FEEL to have achieved these things.

How to Make Gratitude Journaling a Habit

Once you know the basic principles on how to start a daily gratitude practice, it’s about making it a habit. Therefore, how can you make writing in your gratitude journal a habit? I like to employ the amazing recommendations from one of my favorite authors, James Clear, who wrote the book, Atomic Habits.

He has four basic principles for starting a new habit, which we’ll walk through together in order to really engrain your daily gratitude practice. The first of which is, to “make it easy”.

Free Printable Gratitude Worksheet

And that’s where I come in. I have a FREE gratitude journal printable worksheet for you to download that helps you walk through the important steps around writing in your gratitude journal. It walks you through, step by step, so that you don’t even have to THINK about how to do your daily gratitude practice. Now that is making your daily gratitude practice easy!

Make it Satisfying

The next suggestion from James Clear about creating a habit is to “make it satisfying” and “make it attractive”. And if you’re anything like me, I think this will help make writing in your gratitude journal much more attractive.

The Happy Planner! One of the members of The Celebration Effect Community told me about Happy Planners, and I have been obsessed ever since! My Happy Planner, that I made especially for my gratitude journal, is below. Once you know the basic principles of what to write in your gratitude journal, then any old journal will work! But making it attractive is key.

The Happy Planner Gratitude Journal

Is there anything not satisfying and attractive about this colorful gratitude journal? I just love colorful things and so this gratitude journal really calls to me.

The Happy Planner for your Daily Gratitude Practice

Not only is it beautiful and makes me want to write in it, but it’s the ultimate gratitude journal. I’ll tell you why. A Happy Planner has these things called discs. The discs allow you to add, remove, and rearrange pages with ease! It’s the MOST perfect solution for a gratitude journal because once or twice a year, you can discard your pages (or burn them LOL) and add more! There are SO many cute Happy Planners to start your gratitude journal with. Here’s a few ideas below, but there are plenty more Happy Planner options on Amazon!

And don’t forget all the Happy Planner accessories to go with it! Of course I bought little to-do lists, dividers, and hole punchers to make sure I had everything I needed to make gratitude journaling more fun!

But of course you don’t have to use a Happy Planner to make it fun. Use whatever draws you toward it. Make it fun, cute, and exciting! Once you do that, it’s going to get a whole lot easier! Here’s a few other gratitude journals I found that could absolutely help you start your daily gratitude practice.

Continue Your Daily Gratitude Practice

Here’s the thing about habits. Once they’re installed in your brain, you don’t have to TRY anymore. Once you get past all your gratitude journal excuses, it becomes just another habit. Therefore, as you continue to write in your journal, it will get easier and easier to do and you’ll feel a lot less resistance around doing it. Also, once you start to manifest miracles, you’re not going to want to stop because you’ll start to see the miracles manifesting in your life! So, what’s next? Now you need to start taking action! You can read all about how to start taking inspired action to manifest your dream life here.

Try it, and let me know! I can’t wait to hear what you’ve manifested through the power of gratitude.
