1. They don’t think about the long term. ⏰

Sure! It could be fun to do a side job that does XYZ, but can you do it when you’re sick? Can you do it on vacation? Can you do it with a broken arm? We don’t realize that when we start something that we want to blow up, that could actually be a bad thing because of injury or burnout. So it’s best to find a side hustle that can run even when you aren’t working.🤔

2. They choose something to “get rich quick”. 💰⏰ First off, I don’t know that there’s any legal or ethical side hustle that helps you get rich quick. Sure, you can start to make money quickly, but if you want a true business that brings in a legit income, you’ve got to commit.

3. They don’t pick something that can evolve overtime. 📈 I teach women to sell printables, but I teach them that this side hustle can grow and expand as you do. Remember that you grow and change and your priorities and interests do too. So choose something that can evolve with you as you change and evolve yourself.

Do I think selling printables is the best side hustle you can start? Damn straight I do! 😍

I came across this forum yesterday about “Etsy gurus” and how they aren’t actually gurus. And let me just say that I’d never consider myself a guru. 🤭

What I would say is that ever since I started coaching people on Etsy, it became even more important than ever to walk the talk. So it’s super important to me that I keep posting new listings on Etsy and learning from my failures and successes.

So, should you listen to “Etsy gurus”? I say, it’s always worth listening to someone who’s just a few steps further along than you are. They may not know it ALL! And I certainly don’t! (I’m not Bethenny Frankle 😉!) but having a mentor to guide you through what they’ve been through is extremely helpful and can get you to where you want SO much faster.

I've had a lot of jobs in my life. 💼💪

My very first job was a clerk at a grocery store. 🛒📝

Then, I worked at a tanning salon, which I'll probably be paying for the rest of my life. ☀️💳

In college, I worked for a CPA as her assistant, and I LITERALLY was a human paper shredder - she had me shred her papers with my bare hands! 📄🤯

I've done a lot of GREAT jobs and have done a LOT of REALLY crappy jobs. 😅💩

But I always found a way to find fulfillment by doing something on the side that gave me purpose. 🌟💡

I don't particularly think it's riveting, but maybe that's because it's been around for a while now and we just take it for granted? 🤔🏬

But back in the day when it was first built, the idea was to make people feel like they were at the Four Seasons. Did you know that? 🏨💡

I think they missed the mark because the last time I was in there helping my grandma get her first-ever iPhone, there weren't even any chairs! 😅🪑

I am a chronic sitter, so I personally didn't feel like they helped draw me in. But maybe that's just me. 🪑😕

Anyway, Apple has shown success with giving their customers a true experience, and seeing major wins in their business. 📈🍎

This strategy is something to take note of. Yes! Even in the printables world! Because a recent survey found that 56% of surveyed consumers will become repeat buyers after a personalized experience with a company. 📊🌟
