Guten Tag Freunde! (Good day friends!) When I was asked to work on this Okto-BIRTH-fest celebration for a little cutie turning one, I realized that I really had no knowledge of what the German celebration was actually about. I figured it probably wasn’t just about wearing matching “Oktoberfest” t-shirts for a sorority t-shirt dance in college. Turns out I was right. I’ll give you a little history lesson while I show you the cutest Oktoberfest Birthday Party Decorations!

Some Oktoberfest History
As it turns out, the holiday started back in 1810 and was a celebration of a wedding between some prince and princess. One might wonder why a holiday called Oktoberfest begins in September? Well apparently, it did originate in the month of October but later moved to September as the years went on, based solely on the fact that the September days were more pleasant and warm. As a March-born baby, I always wanted my birthday to be in the summer months for this exact reason. So now I’m thinking that if Oktoberfest can change their big day, maybe I can too?
I digress. This party turned out SO darn cute and I think the birthday girl had the best first birthday EVER – hopefully, in slightly different way than the way I celebrated back in college.
So with that, you’re invited to Logan’s Okto-BIRTH-fest celebration! 🙂
I’ve included some alternate Oktoberfest invitations that you might like as well!
Throughout this post, I have included some Oktoberfest party essentials you can buy on Amazon, which I think would be so perfect to add to your Oktoberfest themed party!

Party circles are decorations you might not think of to decorate for your party! But these are so fun because you can make them into stickers for bags or to place around your party.
You can also create centerpiece sticks, like I’ve done here and place them in vases, food, candy jars, and more! Here’s a quick tutorial video that you can watch to recreate these centerpiece sticks.
And if you’re serving cupcakes on the big day, these digital cupcake toppers are the perfect addition to your party!
