How it all started: Creating Printables to Sell on Etsy:
It all started when I was working my booty off on Cricut-made party decorations that I was selling right here on my website as well as in my Etsy shop. Sure, I loved creating new designs and wowing people with amazing new themes. And sure, they were beautiful and unique and actually really fun to make. But the work was a LOT. We’re talking, working nights, weekends, and holidays on those handmade party decorations!
I can’t tell you how stressful it would be when I had a planned family vacation and a ton of party decorations to wrap up before the trip. It was exhausting.
Oh and not to mention I was barely making ANY money!
When I finally Started Creating Printables to Sell on Etsy
One day, I decided to list one printable on Etsy. You can read all about my very first printable I listed and sold on Etsy. It was only an 8 x 10 poster that someone could print at home. That seemed relatively easy! But what about all the other decorations I sold?
Suddenly all the fears were creeping in. How would I create banners, favor tags, juice box covers, and other things that I actually created and sent through snail mail? Wouldn’t that be hard? What kinds of files would I need to provide people? And what if they didn’t work when the customer downloaded them?
Can you relate to all these fears?
That was when I decided to say F it! Let’s just see how this goes! So I threw my hands in the air and started transitioning my party decorations into printables.
…and people started to buy them!
Creating Printables to Sell on Etsy: My $20K Year
One by one I transitioned my current party decorations designs to printables. And every single month I started to do less and less work! It was amazing. And eventually, I started making around the same amount that I was making when selling my printed designs! Then pretty soon after, I was making MORE than I had made printing, cutting, gluing and shipping my decorations!
And the best part? I was doing like NO work.
That’s because when you create a printable, you can sell it over and over again without having to any more work! It’s a dream right? I sure think so. It’s kind of like how millionaires make money.
In 2021 I wrapped up the year at $20K by selling printables alone!
