How To Get More Party Decoration Sales On Etsy: Search Engine Optimization
Okay, I’m telling you this first because it’s boring and blah. But it’s a must. Search engine optimization is extremely important when it comes to selling more party decorations on Etsy.
If you’re just using keywords like “boy birthday party” for your dinosaur themed 2nd birthday party, then you are going to lose a ton of customers looking for your items.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is much easier than it sounds. Just get into the mind of your customers and think about what they would be searching for.
How To Get More Party Decoration Sales On Etsy: Be Original
Other blogs will tell you to niche down. And while I totally agree with that, if you’re already a party decorations designer, then you are already in a pretty specific niche.
So the next best advice is to BE ORIGINAL. When you start to work on a new party theme idea for my Etsy shop, don’t do a ton of research on what other Etsy party sellers are creating. Start from scratch so you can come up with a brand new idea.
Alternately, do a ton of research and see what is on the market. Come up with something SO different that isn’t already on the market. There are a lot of overdone party supplies. Could you make your party decoration themes more simple? Could you add something that someone else doesn’t have? Remember, copying someone else’s work is NOT going to earn you points with the universe. Try something NEW.
My best selling party decorations are the ones where I think outside the box.
Go the Extra Mile for Etsy Customers
Every single blog will tell you to have great customer service in your Etsy shop. And I’m no exception. In fact, we talk a LOT about customer service and how to perfect it in my signature program. I love giving my customers over the top customer service. It is so appreciated by customers and strokes my ego with they rage about it in reviews LOL. But, there’s other ways you can go above and beyond for your customers.
For example, I noticed something when I first switched over to making printable party decorations instead of making printed and shipped decorations. Other sellers that made printables would make party packs or decoration bundles that looked amazing, but felt overwhelming. Party hats, cup covers, water bottle labels, juice covers, food labels, cupcake toppers, and all the things you needed for your party were all being sold together. But, like how in the heck do you put that all together?
That’s why I offer my customers with tutorial videos and product suggestions that I use to utilize my printables. It helps customers get a better sense of what is actually involved and needed from them after they hit purchase. It reduces overwhelm.
How can you go the extra mile for your customer? Can you show them how to use your product in different settings? Can you give them more picture ideas of when and how to use it? Try to think outside the box and see how that helps increase your sales on Etsy.
