In the days and months just after the holidays, you’re kind of caught in between when it’s not Christmas anymore, but it’s still the dead of winter. (i.e. NO pool, park, or outdoor parties in sight!) So let me help you out with a few Party Themes for Cold Weather and winter party decorations that aren’t Christmasy!

Is the day after Christmas TOO early to take down the Christmas decorations? I know, I know, I’m a grinch, but there’s something about when Christmas is over, the family has all goes home, the gifts are put away, and a new year is on the horizon that I wake up with the need to cleanse and purge. Anyone else? I wonder if Alexa can help me with that…?

With my daughter being born in February, I can relate to the winter party theme dilemma. It makes moms like us have to think outside the box with themes that work in doors and match the season. So with that in mind, here’s some really fun winter party themes that aren’t Christmasy and are great party themes for cold weather:
A Mountain or Wilderness Theme for every kind of party
A mountain or wilderness theme is a great party theme for cold weather! It all started with the original blue, black and white, Mountain Baby Shower (Get all the original mountain baby shower decorations on Etsy).

After that, when the blue and black mountain themed baby shower was such a big hit, this more feminine or gender neutral mountain baby shower was born and is another great party theme for cold weather.

Then it morphed into a Gold and Black mountain themed baby shower, another fabulous idea for party themes for cold weather.
Didn’t this mountain themed baby shower welcome sign turn out so cute?
And lastly, we even created an Adventure Mountain Themed Grad party!
I think it’s safe to say that the mountain party theme is the top, or one of the top party themes for cold weather!
2. Another Winter Party Idea: Winter Wonderland (Or ONE-derland!) Theme
The options are endless when it comes to a winter wonderland party! I have worked on quite a few winter wonderland party decorations, and there are so many different options. It fits right into party themes for cold weather.

Luckily, I have some winter wonderland party decorations ready for you to print and cut so that you can recreate this party theme for cold weather! This Winter Wonderland Baby Shower is Available as digital downloads in my digital parties.
A Nutcracker theme, as part of the winter wonderland theme, isn’t just a Christmas party theme! This pink nutcracker invitation turned out so cute for this winter party idea.
3. Party Themes for Cold Weather: A Lumberjack/Buffalo Plaid Theme
A buffalo plaid theme could probably be lumped into the Woodsy party theme as well, but I’ve given it it’s own category because it can be a completely different! There are some amazing ideas out there for buffalo plaid party decorations. From a buffalo plaid tablescape, to buffalo plaid cookies, there are so many ideas! I have a ton of great Buffalo Plaid party ideas saved to this Buffalo Plaid Party Pinterest Board for more party themes for cold weather!
And don’t forget the yummy hot cocoa bar to match!

Everything you need to prepare this yummy hot cocoa bar can be found right here in my Amazon shop.
4. Party Themes for Cold Weather: Woodland Animals Themed
The woodland animal theme makes me swoon, weather it’s for a baby shower or a children’s birthday party. It is a great winter-themed shower that you can absolutely plan in doors. How freaking cute are some of these adorable foods you can incorporate?!
Last year I got to do a different take on the woodland theme for a wolf-themed baby shower! Her last name was Wolf, and apparently there’s some kind of reference to a ‘Baby Wolf’ in Game of Thrones (Forgive me, since I have never seen it.) So it was really fun to work on an animal-themed shower that wasn’t as popular and had some unique nuances.
