I love Christmas games! In fact, I am going to tell you everything we did last Christmas Eve, that I know you are going to love. Last year, I asked all the couples to bring a game to share. So, I have recreated each of them in this blog for you to print and buy all the things you need to make it happen! I hope it brings your family some extra cheer this holiday season.
Printable Christmas Games to Play With The Family: Christmas Movie Trivia Games
Do you love holiday movies? My family does! Especially, but not limited to, Home Alone, The Santa Clause, and Christmas Vacation. These are all the “classics” amiright? What’s more fun is getting the family together and seeing how well you actually know the movie! We started out the night with this Christmas Vacation Trivia Game! My in-laws brought the idea, which they found in their local newspaper. (I actually am not the biggest movie person, so you can bet I lost this one big time.)
Here’s a list of these triva games from me, and other sellers on Etsy:
- Christmas Vacation Trivia Game, A Touch of LA
- Christmas Movie Bingo Cards, Sassy Poodle Designs
- Home Alone Trivia Game, Life and Glitter
- The Santa Clause Movie Trivia Game, Life and Glitter
Printable Christmas Games to Play With The Family
Okay so here is where my creativity came in! This one involves a lot of moving parts so bare with me. First, you print out this gift passing game! It says, ” As I read this story, whenever you hear the word right, continuously pass the gift to the right until you hear the word left. Then switch directions and continuously pass the gift to the left. Whoever is holding the gift at the end of the story wins!”
It’s just like musical chairs, and makes everyone super competitive, which is fun. 😉 All you need is this printable 5 x 7 card to read the story aloud. Then get a gift box or a gift bag to have your family pass around. Places something small, but fun into the bag as a gift.
Need ideas to go in the bag? I have a few ideas! First, you can check out these Last Minute Christmas gift ideas that would be perfect for this game! However, if you want to keep the fun going even further, keep reading below…!
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Here’s what I did with my family to keep the game going! Instead of putting a gift in the bag, I placed the first clue for a Christmas Scavenger Hunt inside the bag! All the guests instantly realized they were still in the game!
This Christmas Scavenger hunt is the perfect one to play. You can place the clues from this Christmas Scavenger Hunt all over the house. If your family is anything like mine, they’ll be running all over the house not being able to contain their excitement.
And what’s the ultimate winning prize for the Christmas Scavenger Hunt you ask? Again, you could use an idea from these last Minute Christmas gift ideas. However, I decided that the final gift at the end of the scavenger hunt would be yet ANOTHER game. If they were going to get their gift, they were going to have to work with it.
Therefore, the prize at the end of my Christmas Scavenger hunt was similar to this Money Maze. I have included, for example, the money maze and a few other ideas for the scavenger hunt prize that you can grab on Amazon if you want to recreate this fun idea.
