Keeping My Cricut Close to My Computer
One thing not a lot of people talk about is how connected your Cricut is to your computer. You’re constantly switching between Design Space and your cutting machine — designing, cutting, and multitasking all at once.

That’s why I wanted my Cricut to be within arm’s reach of my computer. With this setup, I don’t even have to get up from my chair! I can:
- Turn one way to cut
- Turn another way to print
- And still have plenty of desk space for crafting
It makes the whole process seamless and efficient.

A Budget-Friendly Craft Room Setup: The Best Cricut Storage Setup for Your Craft Room
Now let’s be real — my craft room isn’t some professionally designed space. It’s just a regular room in my house, so everything here had to be budget-friendly and functional.
I purchased three of these white desks, and I love how they look. They’re sleek, modern, and huge — giving me plenty of workspace for projects. The drawers also hold all my Cricut tools, mats, and accessories perfectly.

If you have a smaller space, you can get the exact same desk that’s half the length.

The Secret: A Shelf Under the Desk
Here’s the real star of this setup — the shelf under the desk. This is where my Cricut lives!
It’s the perfect height so I can sit and cut without moving around. Seriously, once you try it, you’ll never want to go back.
At first, I tried using a small bench seat as the shelf, and it worked great — until I decided to add paper storage inserts for all my cardstock. These inserts only fit in the cube storage shelf I’m using now, which turned out to be even better for organizing everything.

👉 Quick note: if you want to have two shelves side by side like mine, make sure to choose different shelves — two cube storage units won’t fit right next to each other under the desk.
What If You Have Multiple Cricut Machines?
If you’re lucky enough to have more than one Cricut machine, this setup still works!
Just skip the middle divider on a cube shelf, and you can stack your machines vertically — both within easy reach of your desk.
Behind the Scenes: Does the Mat Hit the Wall?
I get this question a lot! When my Cricut cuts, the mat does come close to the wall, but it’s not an issue. The mats just touch the cords in the back, and I could easily move those if I wanted to. There’s still plenty of clearance for cutting.
